University Preparation Program
Most English-speaking education systems require international
students to take an additional year of secondary school studies
known as a "University Foundation Year".
The University Preparation Program is designed for secondary school
graduates who wish to proceed to higher education but lack
the language skills required for entry into the first year of
an undergraduate degree program.
This course aims to bridge the gap between students' previous
learning style, education, experience, culture and what is
expected at a university program at SHINES.
The main program is a 6-month Certificate Program that thoroughly
prepares you for a University program conducted in English. The certificate
program covers the following modules:
- Business Communication
- Key Business Practice
- IT Skills
Entry Requirement:
- GCE 'N'/'O' level or its equivalent
English Proficiency:
IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 450 or completed SHINES Intensive English Upper-Intermediate
Level
Applicants who do not meet this requirement may require intensive
English preparation prior to the commencement of the main program.
Successful completion of this program guarantees acceptance into
SHINES Diploma/Advanced Diploma programs and subsequent progression to the final year of
an undergraduate degree program with one of our partner universities.
